ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUES (ART®)

Active Release Techniques (ART®) treatment is a hands-on, soft-tissue management system that allows us to diagnose and treat soft-tissue injuries. It is a highly successful approach to injuries of muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves and joints.

ART® treatment protocols are very specific soft-tissue adjustments performed to reintroduce normal movement and function to the soft tissue structures of the body as well as the spine and extremities.

Muscles, tendons, nerves, blood vessels and fascia may be compromised in many ways leading to restrictions and loss of normal function. These restrictions, in turn, lead to adhesions and the body's natural response which is the formation of scar tissue.

ART® treatment is directed at removing adhesions and is the most effective way to treat soft-tissue injuries. ART® can help many physical discomforts and syndromes including:

• cumulative trauma disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome
and other work-related injuries
• sports injuries of the shoulder, arm, wrist, elbow, hip, leg, knee,
ankle and foot
• rotator cuff syndrome
• frozen shoulder
• post-surgical release of adhesions between muscles, nerves,
and connective tissue
• hyper extension/flexion (whiplash) injury
• acute injuries
• chronic injuries
• sciatica
• pain, stress, headaches, neuropathy

The combined use of ART® and chiropractic care provides an optimal level of care by simultaneously addressing both soft-tissue and structural problems.

COMPLETE CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractic means "effective use of the hands". Chiropractic Care is treatment of the spine and extremities using hands as the primary tool. The chiropractic treatment we provide focuses on restoring proper movement and functions to the spine and extremities.

There are a variety of techniques utilized when delivering chiropractic care. The style which most closely describes our approach incorporates a variety of techniques. We specialize in chiropractic techniques including Diversified, Active Release Techniques (ART®), Gaston® Technique, AiM, SFMA, FMS, Leander Table, Drop Table, Activator Methods, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), and gait/postural analysis. This multi-faceted approach allows us to tailor the treatment to the patient rather than have the patient conform to one particular approach to care.

We combine chiropractic care, Active Release Techniques® , functional exercises & progressive rehabilitation to re-establish correct function and alignment of the spine and extremities.

The purpose of your treatment here is to restore, optimize and strengthen the function of the joints and muscles of your body; promoting one's own natural healing in restoring proper joint movement.

PROGRESSIVE REHABILITATION

Injury and trauma are events relating to accidents, surgery, postural problems, repetitive strain and any other physically compromising situation. In order to get the most effective and efficient results of rehabilitation and recovery, an individualized treatment plan is designed that incorporates the patient's everyday routine.

By targeting the "weakest link in the chain" and maintaining the most normal level of daily activities possible, the body responds most rapidly and with the best results.

It is entirely possible for an individual to heal from injury while simultaneously continuing to progress in other aspects of fitness. It is also possible that an individual may need to modify his/her activity with active rest. Not only does the therapy become more effective, but also it requires less treatment with less healing time. This is extremely important when an individual wants to live an active lifestyle with no limitations.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, training for an event or maintaining good health, we specialize in helping individuals achieve their goals.

GRASTON® TECHNIQUE

Graston® Technique (GT) is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization technique for treating and resolving soft tissue injuries, including repetitive stress diagnoses. GT is ideal for the treatment of acute or chronic injuries such as cervical sprain/strain, lumbar sprain/strain, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow), rotator cuff tendonitis, patellofemoral disorders, achilles tendonitis, fibromyalgia, scar tissue, and trigger points.

POSTURAL THERAPY

Postural Therapy by Egoscue University is a unique and very effective program designed to treat musculoskeletal pain without drugs, surgery, or manipulation. It is a process which involves a series of stretches and exercises designed specifically for each individual. This process strengthens specific muscles and brings the body back to its proper alignment and function.

ANATOMY IN MOTION (AiM)

A way to investigate and map the way the body moves through gait cycle.  This technique was originated by Gary Ward.

SELECTIVE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT (SFMA)

A diagnostic system to assess functional movement patterns that may be eliciting musculoskeletal discomfort.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SYSTEMS (FMS)

A system designed to re-establish corrective movement through various exercise.
